EVE Online

The description of EVE is misleading. It’s not really a game per se, it’s more of a life simulation, where that life is your character’s and it’s living in a region of space far away from ours. You can be any kind of character you want, the possiblities are literally almost endless.

Graphically, there is no game I’ve seen to date that looks as good as EVE does. It’s a living, breathing work of space art that you can interact with.Gameplay wise, if you’ve ever played Tradewars 2002 from the old BBS days, this is your wet dream come to life. I’m not kidding. I could write a book just describing some of the basic things you can do in EVE, much less the more complicated stuff. Essentially after creating your character with a very in depth character creation process, you get a rustbucket of a ship and are sent out to make your fortune in the universe.

Everyone has to do the mining grind, slicing and dicing asteroids for ore to refine into minerals you can sell. Or you can do mission for your training agent which give some very good cash. Soon you’ll be upgrading your ship, hunting down evil NPC smugglers or pirates (or other players, if you’re so inclined) and maybe starting your own corporation.

Now some folks might recognize me from some of the work I’ve done for the EVE community at large, including an online comic and some fan fiction. Check out the links to the right for more information.
