EVE 4th Anniversary

Congratulations are in order for the fine folks at CCP Games, as this weekend they celebrate the 4th anniversary of EVE Online! As someone who’s been playing since the beta, I have to say this is the longest I’ve ever played a single game in my entire life. Longest by far.

Following up on the EVE Voice launch, CCP’s asked me to do a splash screen for the game. For those who don’t have access to EVE, here’s what went online this morning:

Latest comic, from a time when I flew with effects turned on. 🙂 Hopefully with my new PC it won’t be such a framerate destroyer to do so again, I really miss seeing all the nice purty effects in EVE.

So with any luck by the end of this week I should have a nice new PC to play with.

For some dumb reason, my copy of EVE is crashing repeatedly. Every time I start it I can login, pick my character, and when it’s busy loading the station data it craters. Deleting the cache seems to help, sometimes. But sometimes it doesn’t. This just started yesterday for some weird reason, maybe I should bugrep the issue…
