Trinity 1.1 Boost Patch Being Deployed. Sorta.

Well it sounds like the Boost patch is causing CCP some difficulties.

Patch Deployment May Be Delayed
While monitoring the progress of the patch deployment, a database issue came to light that we felt was important to address as quickly as possible. In order to ensure the best quality patch possible for our players, the estimated time for the downtime has been potentially extended as we correct that issue. Restoration of service could happen as late as tomorrow afternoon but may be as soon as this evening. Please watch the MOTD and our website for more information as it becomes available.

Hopefully they can resolve the problem and get things back online soon. Folks are starting to get the shakes.

Small update to the server status:

Tranquility is currently undergoing an extended downtime to deploy the Trinity 1.1: Boost Patch
This downtime was originally scheduled to end at 16:00 GMT. While monitoring the progress of the patch deployment, a database issue came to light that we felt was important to address as quickly as possible. In order to ensure the best quality patch possible for our players, the estimated time for the downtime has been extended as we correct that issue. Please watch the MOTD and our website for more information as it becomes available. Patch notes are available on the Trinity webpage.

Another update:

Deployment continues for the Trinity 1.1: Boost Patch
As reported earlier, database issues were discovered during an early point in the process. Those issues required us to go into our backups for data and this restoration and data integrity check have taken longer than originally anticipated. We regret any inconvenience these delays may cause. Our most recent assessment indicates that service may be restored at 02:00 GMT, and we will provide additional updates as often as possible.

  1. They have to be kidding… I understand that sh** happens, but at least they should apologise, not just inform us. And if it’s going to be 2 days, well, I don’t know what to say. It’s just sad.

  2. Oh come on… It would take them 2 more words. I’m not being too demanding I think. It’s just that they don’t show much concern for the average frustrated player. That’s my feeling at least. But enough ranting, let them solve it then. But fast!

  3. I agree, their customer support is horrible. I pay to play so a little info and support during times like this. Their forums aren’t even up.

It makes a (small) difference for me.
But no EVE for me tonight 😦 and I had so much stuff to do. I wanted to create a new character for my new account… at least now I have a bit more time to decide between Caldari and Amarr (My main is Minmatar).

  5. Well, it’s up, sorta…
And my EVEmon can’t connect also. I guess it’s the API issue they mention in the news. Still in the morning I managed to connect for a few minutes before it crashed and I gave up and came to work.

  6. Joao, typically they turn the API feature off for 24 hours after a major patch like this to keep strain on the servers down.

  7. So any thoughts/rumours/baseless conjecture on what the problem might have been?

My personal favourite suggestion so far is that the “remove can spam” script accidentally deleted every single player-owned item in space and they had to restore from backup, haha!

  8. We will probably never know exactly what went wrong. Lots of bugs showing up now. Peoples frame rates have jumped up substantially, skills and implants missing and peoples overview showing up in the middle of the screen when they undock. I thought patches were supposed to fix things?

  9. Looks like I picked the perfect week to travel. Missed all of the frustration of sitting at home rocking back and forth in total EVE withdrawal syndrome!

    Thanks Doc Blinky
